An account by Cyrus, King of Persia, of his conquest of Babylon and the capture of Nabonidus, the last Babylonian king. Cyrus (559-530 BCE) describes measures of relief brought to the inhabitants of the city, the restitution of statues of gods to various temples and the restoration of the temples, and the return to their homelands of a number of people held by the Babylonian kings.
