Joseph Haydn's grave was robbed shortly after his death
by "phrenologists", who hoped to learn about his genius
by studying his skull. In 1954 the skull was restored
to Haydn's remains in Eisenstadt, Austria. Hedwig Kraus,
archivist of the prestigious "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde", next to the showcase with Haydn's skull.
