Meissen set "Golden Chinese". Such sets were produced
in Meissen, but the gold design was added by special
workshops in Augsburg. The "Golden Chinese" were
painted by the brothers Seuter, who modelled their
Chinese after travel books published in Augsburg. 1730

others painted the golden frames, while a third group
specialized in the "Indian Flowers". 1725

So-called "shaded flowers" - shadows under the
blossoms were simply copied from the etchings
and engravings used as models. Insects and beetles
on the plates reflect the 18th century's great
