Friedrich Wilhelm III, in the gardens of Charlottenburg
Palace. Queen Luise died in 1810, only 34 years old.She
was much regretted and remembered for her gentleness   
and patriotism during the Napoleonic Wars.

ation" against Napoleon, in Berlin-Spandau. 12 lances  
form a cone-shaped lattice. Four shields with helmets  
and the names of the war-dead. A grenade atop the monu-
ment in memory of the storming of Spandau fortress.

Monument for Queen Luise at Gransee. Cast iron.        
Queen Luise, wife of Frederic Wilhelm III, died in 1810
aged only 34. Her body was brought from Mecklenburg to 
Berlin and during the voyage lay in state at Gransee.  
The monument was erected in memory of that night.

The Nicolai Church, Potsdam. Building began under Karl 
Friedrich Schinkel, who used motifs from the Pantheon, 
Paris, and St. Paul's Cathedral, London. Begun in 1828,
it was continued by Ludwig Persius after Schinkel's    
death in 1841 and finished by August Sthler in 1845.
