Building of the Secession Art Movement, 1897-1898      
In 1897, a group of Austrian artists, among them Gustav
Klimt, Josef Hoffmann and Carl Moll, broke away from   
the stolid "Kuenstlerhaus" and founded the Secession   
Art Movement, with its own exhibition building.

Haus Olbrich,Mathildenhoehe,Darmstadt.Olbrich built    
the house for his family in 1900-1901.It was sold in   
1940,much damaged by bombs in 1944 and greatly altered 
during restoration in 1978.Of the original house only  
the tiles,the garden gate and a few windows remain.
