In an unprecedented incident the soviet member of a four-power international military police patrol tried to steal the patrol's american car and escape with three soviet kidnappers which his patrol had arrested in the american sector of Vienna.The american member of the patrol forced the soviet member out of the car at gunpoint, but had to turn over the military policeman as well as the three kidnappers to the Soviet authorities, according to four-power regulations.
