Pass in the Austrian Alps, the  Russians lifted military control on the demarkation line separating the Soviet Occupation Zone from the British zone of Austria. Similarly, on the border of the US and Russian zone, Russian troops abolished all controls on road and rail traffic, reserving the right, however to carry out periodic spot checks.
