Mohur coin of Shah Jahangir, 1611. Gold mohur with the head of the emperor Jahangir, surrounded by a halo with radiating points. The Arabic inscription reads:"A likeness of Jahangir Shah, in the year six of his reign." Jahangir gave orders for the issue of a commemorative medal for presentation. The Pazzi family and their allies planned the murder of Lorenzo Il Magnifico in the Cathedral in Florence, but killed his younger brother Giuliano instead. This medal is one of several works of art commissioned from leading artists which proclaimed the safety of the Florentine Republic under Lorenzo, as well as mourning Giuliano. CM 1896-11-6-1
