The building was begun after 1719 by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, completed by his son, Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach, and profoundly modified in the 19th and 20th centuries (today's Museumsquartier). a) Parish Church of St. Joseph ob der Laimgrube with its double tower façade, built in 1661 in Mariahilfer Straße and reconstructed from 1687 on after its destruction in 1683; transferred to Windmühlgasse as a stylistically accurate copy in 1906/7. – b) Parish Church of Mariahilf (Church of Our Lady), reconstructed unter Franz Jänggl (Jänkl) 1714–23. – c) Spittelberg. – d) Neubau. – e) Parish Church of St. Ulrich and Maria Trost in St. Ulrichsplatz, built by Joseph Reymund from 1721 on. – f) Laimgrube. – g) Trautson Palace.
