Charles Wilson Peale's portrait of Washington commemorating the victory at Princeton (The Battle of Princeton was a battle of the American Revolutionary War, fought near Princeton, New Jersey on January 3, 1777).
The painting was executed some time after the event, but that artist was often around Washington and this work illustrates the proper uniform and appropriate facial age for the American Lieutenant General at the height of Washington's military career.
