Head of a falcon.
This is a votive object belonging to a gold statue of the falcon Horus, patron deity of Hierakonpolis (near Edfu), the predynastic capital of Upper Egypt. It's head was executed by means of beating the gold then connecting it with the copper body. A uraeus is fixed to the diadem which supports two tall openwork feathers. The eyes are inlaid with obsidian.

pillars,under a Coptic cross, stands a dove or eagle; both birds were important symbols of Egyptian and Nubian
Christianity. Before being flooded by the new Lake Nasser in
1964, the site of Faras was excavated by a Polish expedition

Painted wooden lion's head from Nubia, Early Coptic Period,
3rd CE. The lion's head is carved in much higher relief than
the leaves below. The basic colour is  reddish brown, with details in yellow and black. The lower edge of the piece is heavily burnt, suggesting that the rest of the object, perhaps the entire building, was destroyed by fire. From Qasr Ibrim, Nubia.    EA, 71882
