Palkhorchoede Monastery in Gyantse, on the route       
from Kathmandu to Lhasa. The monastery and the         
"Stupa of the Thousand Buddhas" are surrounded by a    
fortress-like wall. The windowless tower on the hill-  
top is used to hang up tangkas (buddhist paintings).
